This Privacy Policy explains how Heena – Buy & Sell Sri Lanka (“Heena”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application, related services, website pages, and support channels.
Heena is operated by Z-Gen Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. By using Heena, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to read this policy carefully. It applies to users who browse, create an account, publish listings, apply for jobs, communicate through chat, or otherwise use Heena services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account and profile information
When you create or use an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, account ID, account settings, and any other information you choose to add to your profile.
1.2 Marketplace, job, and service information
We collect content you provide when using Heena services. This may include advertisements, listing titles and descriptions, prices, property or vehicle details, job postings, company information, applications, resumes, documents, photos, videos, and other files you choose to upload.
1.3 Messages and communications
When you use Heena chat or contact another user, we process message content, message timestamps, sender and recipient account identifiers, and related delivery or moderation information. Messages and listing information may be visible to the users with whom you choose to communicate.
1.4 Location information
We may process location information when you grant location permission, use map-related features, select a location for a listing, or otherwise provide location details. You can control device location permissions from your device settings.
1.5 Device, usage, and diagnostic information
We may collect device and app information such as device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, language, crash reports, diagnostic information, identifiers, app interactions, and usage analytics needed to operate, secure, improve, and troubleshoot Heena.
1.6 Advertising information
When advertisements are displayed, advertising partners may process device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, advertising interaction data, app usage information, and related technical information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, frequency management, and, where permitted, personalized advertising.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- create and manage user accounts;
- publish, display, search, and manage marketplace and job content;
- enable communication between buyers, sellers, recruiters, applicants, and other users;
- send service messages, notifications, security alerts, and support responses;
- provide map, location, moderation, reporting, and safety features;
- monitor platform performance, detect errors, prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and policy violations;
- improve app performance, reliability, features, and user experience;
- display and measure advertisements, subject to applicable consent requirements; and

3. How We Share Information
We do not share personal information except as described below or when required to provide the service.
3.1 Other Heena users
Information you publish publicly, including profile details, listings, job posts, photos, business information, and public contact details, may be visible to other users. Messages are shared with the intended chat participants.
3.2 Service providers
We use trusted service providers to operate Heena. These may include Google Firebase and related Google services for authentication, cloud database services, file storage, cloud messaging, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and hosting.
3.3 Advertising partners
We use Google Mobile Ads and may use related Google advertising technology to request, display, measure, and improve ads. Advertising partners may process data as described in their own privacy notices and subject to your consent choices where required by law.
3.4 Legal, safety, and business reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our policies, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Heena, our users, or others.
4. Advertising and Consent Choices
Heena may show advertisements through Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your region and applicable law, we may ask for your consent before processing personal data for personalized advertising or related advertising purposes.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Heena uses a consent management process designed to provide choices regarding advertising partners and advertising purposes. You may see a consent form when required.
Where available, you can revisit your privacy choices from the privacy options area in the Heena app. You may also manage advertising preferences through your device and Google account settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Heena services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business operations.
Some information may remain in secure backups or be retained in aggregated or de-identified form for a limited period after account deletion where necessary for legal, fraud prevention, security, or operational purposes.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no internet-based service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Account Deletion
You can request account deletion from within the Heena app:
Profile → Settings → Delete Account
When an account is deleted, we will process the deletion of relevant profile information and user content in accordance with our retention, security, legal, and operational requirements. Public listings may be removed, and chat content may be deleted or anonymized where technically and legally appropriate.
8. International Data Transfers
Heena and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. When required, we take reasonable steps to ensure that applicable safeguards are used for international data transfers.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
Heena may contain links to third-party websites, maps, advertiser content, social platforms, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing information to them.
